Congratulate our 2022 Grads and Companion
On Sunday, April 3rd we will be celebrating the graduation of 3 students from the Diaconal Ministries program at our Annual Service of Celebration. We will also be presenting this year’s Companion of the Centre Award. You are invited to join us for this online worship service and celebration. (You can register for a zoom link HERE.) Following the service there will be an informal online “tea” time where you can chat with the grads, Companion, and others in the CCS community.
If you can’t make it to the Annual Service but would like to pass along your congratulations (or even if you can but want to give these fine people a well-deserved shout-out), please leave a congratulatory comment on this post and we’ll make sure they see it.
This year’s graduates are:
- Charmain Bailey from Windsor, ON
- John Helps from Nanaimo, BC
- Rachel Nadon from Drumheller, AB
The 2022 Companion of the Centre is Aileen Urquhart, retired United Church Diaconal Minister from Sioux Lookout, ON.

My dearest congratulations to the church as it receives into leadership three of my co-learners on this incredible journey. It has been an honour to travel with each on of you, some for a few semesters, others for much longer. Each of you have a place in my prayers as you continue to change our world and your communities. Blessings friends.
Congratulations Rachel and all the best in Drumheller!

CONGRATULATIONS Rachel, you have worked hard for this Day.
I am so excited about these grads coming out into the church/world! (Not that you haven’t been contributing to and participating in the church and world all along.) I’m glad to know you, and glad that you are being recognized for all the work and growth of this process of formation in Diaconal Ministry. Be blessed.
Congratulations Rachel. So proud of you and all your passion.
Congratulations to Rachel Nadon,
Pat and I send our congratulations on your ordination as a Diaconal minister and wish you well as you go forward in your ministry. The pandemic changed everything and we enjoyed the weekly zoom gatherings that you hosted at McDougall United.
Blessings from your friends from McDougall, Pat & Art Hironaka
Congratulations Rachel
We are glad that you persevered and have graduated today. Thank you for sharing this special moment with us.
