2017 Learning on Purpose

2017 Learning on Purpose

Our Learning on Purpose: Changing Leadership for a Changing World course has just finished.  Fifteen participants from across Canada, from Halifax to West Vancouver, came together for two weeks of intensive learning.

And I mean intensive.

There were tears.  There was laughter.  There was dancing.

The participants included people preparing for ministry, people in ministry, and people who want to deepen their practice and leadership as lay people.  We had teachers, hair stylists, computer programmers, opera singers.

When all was said and done, Anglican participant Evan Young simply described the course as, “Wow. Deep.”

Students were invited to become more self-aware, to be vulnerable with each other, to support each other in their learning and to create learning opportunities for the whole group, to grapple with challenging ideas in theology, social justice, and spiritual care, to offer honest and compassionate feedback, and to grow.

We wish them all well on their journeys home, whether that’s across the city or across the country.
