The Fall 2025 Integrating Year learning circle was held in Regina last week. Because the fall circle is small this year (i.e. one student), IY facilitator Marcie Gibson travelled to Saskatchewan to facilitate an intimate circle with Jenni Krall, who is entering her final year of the Diaconal Ministries program.

“As I enter my integration year,” says Jenni, “I feel honoured and deeply grateful that Marcie was able to travel to Regina to share in this learning journey with me one-on-one. Together, we spent time in worship and engaged in rich conversations around theology, church doctrine, change theory, and more—integrating everything I’ve been learning and beginning to shape the foundation of my ministry identity.”

Marcie and Jenni used art, games, brainstorming, spiralling, play, journalling, and other tools to explore theological concepts and polity practices. At various points through the circle, they were joined by CCS staff zooming in or local ministers coming in person – to enrich the process and share their wisdom and experience. “Even in a circle of one, we are not alone,” says Marcie. “These other voices, including the voices we hear through the readings, expand our perspective. It’s not just an echo chamber. The conversation is always bigger than we assume.”

“It was a fantastic four days,” concludes Jenni.
