CCS Scholarships 2023

CCS Scholarships 2023

Thanks to generous donors the Centre for Christian Studies has bursaries to help offset costs for CCS students, based on need. But did you know that CCS also has scholarships?

Are you a CCS grad? Are you doing further academic studies in religious education? Maybe the Gertrude Rutherford Scholarship (up to $2400) is for you. In 2022, a CCS alum received a Rutherford scholarship to support her doctoral studies and research on diaconal education models.

Are you a CCS student with a university degree who is taking post-graduate courses (eg. working towards a Masters, taking academic external courses)? Perhaps the Dr. & Mrs AJW Myers Scholarship (up to $600) would be useful. In 2022, two CCS students received Myers scholarships.

*NOTE: The Myers and Rutherford Scholarships use the same application form.

Are you a United Church candidate for ministry in the CCS Diaconal Ministries program who lives/works in rural or small town Ontario? Check out the Kent Presbytery Scholarship (up to $1000).

Are you a CCS student who is Black, Indigenous, a Person of Colour/racialized, Two-Spirit, LGBTQIA+ (Lesbian, Gay, Bi, Transgender, Queer, Intersex, Asexual, plus), or who lives with a disability? CCS has the Patricia Alexander Grant Scholarship, which will be awarded again this fall. (No application form.)

The deadline to apply for these scholarships is May 1. For more information, email info@ccsonline.ca .

(Are you a scholar committed to social justice and thinking ahead to some extended academic studies outside of Canada or the US? The $10,000 Emma Kaufmann Scholarship is only awarded once the interest on a designated endowment fund has built up enough, which might be around 2025, but you might want to keep it in mind for the future.)
