Celebrating Women in Ministry
We don’t have a CCS Friday scheduled for this month, but thought you might like to know about an event organized by Emmanuel College in honour of Marion Pope.
Marion, who died last year, was named a Companion of the Centre by CCS in 2003. She was a United Church of Canada diaconal minister and nurse who served in Korea for 36 years. Her ministry was marked by a deep commitment to education, music, social justice, and the global church.
“Celebrating Women in Ministry: In Honour of Dr. Marion Pope” will take place at Emmanuel College in Toronto and stream online, Tuesday, May 26 from 1-6pm Eastern time. The gathering will include panel discussions, presentations, storytelling, musical offerings, and reflections on Marion’s legacy and the ongoing work of women in ministry today. (CCS graduate Hyerim Park will be one of the presenters.)
