Passages – Marion Current and Alice Irwin
Marion Pope sent us word this week of the death of Marion Current (U1958) early Monday morning, November 18th, at Toronto Western Hospital. Marion pioneered professional physio and occupational therapy and education in the Republic of Korea over a span of 37 years, working as United Church overseas personnel with the Presbyterian Church in the ROK. She had been living at Christie Gardens for the last almost three years. She has had many friends who supported her over the past three years, including graduates of CCS. Program Staff Ann Naylor remembers Marion as a fine person and a good friend of CCS. There will be a funeral on Saturday, Nov. 28 (see the comments section below for more information).
Carolyn Bouey-Shank also let us know that a memorial was held in Korea for Alice Irwin (U1947, nee Dahms) who died in April, 2013 in Calgary. Alice and her late spouse Don Irwin (died January 2003) served in Korea for 30 years as Overseas Personnel. In October Alice’s family traveled to Korea to bury her ashes alongside Don’s.
