Profiles in Diakonia
Apr 10, 2021 @ 10:00 am - 1:00 pm CDT
Join us for a celebration of some of our diaconal heroes!
Profiles in Diakonia is open to anyone. Please register. (We especially encourage current Diaconal Ministry students to attend.) It will be held online on Zoom on April 10, 2021 from 10am to 1pm Central Time. (That’s 9am in Alberta, 8am in BC, 11am in Ontario, etc.)
The students in their Integration Year are nearing the end of their Diaconal Ministries program. As part of their final year of studies they each prepared a profiles of two diaconal ministers – one living and one dead. Through research and interviews the students learned the stories of these committed individuals who walked the path before them.
The first half of the Profiles in Diakonia event will provide the opportunity for our students to share these stories and reflect on their own journeys in relation to them.
The second half of the session will be a time of conversation with this year’s Companion of the Centre, Anne Manikel. (Anne will be honoured with the Companion of the Centre Award, and the Integration Year students will be graduating, at the Annual Service of Celebration on April 17.)
The agenda for the Profiles in Diakonia event is below. You can come for the whole thing or just for half. (Parts of the session will take place in breakout rooms, so if you arrive late and there aren’t many people around, that’s why.
