Congrats Amelia and Margaret
After 44 years together with her partner Margaret Yorke, Amelia Reid (AWTC 1962) of Brandon, Manitoba was married at a civil ceremony at Brandon Discovery Centre on June 13, 2015. In attendance were her two sisters from Newfoundland, a small company of friends, and the Anglican Dean who offered a blessing. Amelia said they had had wanted to be married in an Anglican church but at the age of 77 she didn’t want to wait for a decision that might take up to five more years to be implemented. Amelia graduated from the Anglican Women’s Training Centre in 1962, worked at the Peguis Reserve in Manitoba, then at the Downtown Church Workers Association in Toronto. She later earned a B.A. and a B. Ed. From the University of Brandon.
