2015 Grads and Companion – Wish Them Well
This weekend (April 18 & 19) is a time of celebration at CCS. We will be rejoicing at the graduation of the two students in our Integrating Year, and honouring the recipient of 2015 Companion of the Centre Award.
There are many ways you can pass on your congratulations to graduates Jim and Mark or Companion Irene:
- If you’re going to be in the Winnipeg area you can come to the banquet on Saturday night (tickets are $40, contact Cheryl at office@ccsonline.ca by tomorrow),
- or you can come to the Annual Service of Celebration on Sunday (2 pm at Thomson Funeral Chapel, 669 Broadway, everyone welcome).
- Or, if you’re not close enough to come in person, leave a comment below to wish them well.
Jim Hatt from Essex, Ontario started the CCS program in 2006. Mark Laird from Caledon, Ontario started in 2008. It’s been a long journey for these two men who will be receiving their Diplomas in Diaconal Ministries this weekend and are scheduled to commissioned into Diaconal Ministry in the United Church of Canada this spring.
Irene Rainey is a United Church diaconal minister with a long history of commitment to social justice and advocacy. She will be receiving the Centre for Christian Studies’ Companion of the Centre Award this weekend.
Congratulations Jim, Mark, and Irene.
