One Thing I Learned
At a recent online gathering of CCS students, we asked them to name one thing they’d learned in the past school year. Obviously they’ve all learned a lot of things – in learning circles, from their mentors, in their field placements and practical experience, in reflection, in conversation with each other, etc. But if they had to name one thing, what would it be?
Here are some of them…
- Hope can be co-created.
- Grace.
- Hard learning can be rich learning.
- Worship is pastoral care.
- The alchemy of nurturing community.
- Communication is crucial.
- How to stay in the hard conversations.
- There is a new (old) way of following Christ.
- The world is hungry for diakonia.
- I can get too attached to my own ideas, and I can let go.
- Time management is a practice that can be learned.
- The platypus is an image of diversity and creation.
- How to integrate everything I know into my ministry.
- I can take my time.
- Things are different depending on where you are.
What have you learned this year?
