June 19-30, 2023 is Learning on Purpose, our 2-week master class on learning in community. This is a great introduction to the Centre for Christian Studies and to the diaconal themes of social justice, spiritual care, and education. This year it will be in Winnipeg, MB.
October 11-17, 2023 is Ministry as Storytelling. As Christians, we are people of the story, and so much of education and worship is about helping people connect their own personal stories to the stories of faith.
October 19-25, 2023 will be Spiritual Practice. This circle will explore the practices in the Christian tradition that nourish the soul and strengthen us for living.
November and December, 2023 we will be offering our online Minstering by Word and Example, a six-week introduction to the diaconate in the Anglican tradition. An excellent course for anyone considering deacon ministry.
January 9 to February 15, 2024 will be the online Power and Privilege learning circle. A perfect entry into social justice and social analysis.
April 10-16, 2024 is Ages and Stages. What are the worship needs of children? How is ministry with youth different from ministry with adults? How can church support seniors? How do we honour each one’s gifts in intergenerational community?
April 18-24, 2024 will be the social justice learning circle on Oppression and Resistance. This is an opportunity to uncover the mechanisms of marginalization and explore the ways that those pushed to the side are reclaiming their places.
May 7 to June 15, 2024 is the online Relationships learning circle. Relationships with family, friends, loved ones, and community can be a source of joy, but also for some a source of pain. This circle explores the nature of relationship and how spiritual care providers can help people form healthy relationships and navigate the struggles of living interconnected.
