Advocacy and Lobbying
Over at the Christian Century website, Louise Williams (well-known to many in the diaconal community), has a brief reflection on the lectionary passage Luke 7:1-10 and a diaconal perspective on advocacy and lobbying.
The centurion’s use of the Jewish elders and his friends to approach Jesus on his behalf makes me think about lobbying and advocacy. When, if at all, are these activities an appropriate part of Christian mission and ministry?
