Miriam Therese Winter recognized as Companion of the Centre
Musician, poet, liturgist, and teacher Miriam Therese Winter was celebrated at CCS’s Annual Service of Celebration on Sunday, April 14, 2013. Miriam Therese, who currently serves as professor of liturgy, worship, spirituality, and feminist studies at Hartford Seminary, recalled receiving the letter informing her that she’d been nominated for Companion of the Centre, and thinking: “Centre with an R-E?? What is this?” But on looking into the Centre’s history and values she recognized a close affinity, and was honoured to receive the award.
Miriam Therese adds the 3 C’s that come with being a “Companion of the Centre for Christian Studies” to the 3 C’s she uses as a shorthand to introduce quantum spirituality to her students, and to the gathered congregation at the Annual Service of Celebration: chaos, consciousness, and connection.
