Preparing a Banquet
According to Liz, registrations for the CCS anniversary Saturday banquet are at 118! The evening promises to be a celebration of community, Friends, and achievements. The venue will be Young United Church on Broadway, where events of the day will have taken place, with Helen Reed, chair of the Communications and Promotions Committee as host. All Seasons Catering (who also cater our Annual Service of Celebration dinner) will be providing the meal.
Special guests will include former principals and staff, heads of partner schools including Adrian Jacobs, the new Keeper of the Circle at Sandy-Saulteaux Centre, and Chris Trott, Warden of St. John’s College, Winnipeg, and Steve Willey of The United Church of Canada, where he is Program Coordinator for Education and Leadership Development. Gwynn Griffith will be on hand to sign (and sell) copies of our history, Weaving a Changing Tapestry.
The after dinner program is full, as we have much to celebrate!
- Caryn Douglas will be honoured as the newest Companion of the Centre for Christian Studies, with a citation and opportunity to respond;
- Ann Naylor and Ted Dodd will receive the Davidson Trust Award for excellence in teaching and scholarship in theological education;
- Marion Pardy and Dorothy and Michael Peers will be honoured for their contribution as co-chairs of the Giving Life, Shaping Justice Endowment Campaign.
So bring your party clothes and come rejoice with us!
