Robyn

Welcome Robyn

CCS is pleased to welcome Robyn Cruz as our new Finance and Administration Coordinator. Robyn starts officially at the beginning of July but has been around since mid-June, getting oriented and overlapping with Cheryl Thiessen before Cheryl retires at the end of the month. Robyn’s work will include bookkeeping and financial management (including tuition, donations, payments, etc.), looking after records and data, and overseeing the building.

Robyn comes to us from her previous work as a manager with the Manitoba Aboriginal Sports and Recreation Council, working with high performance Indigenous sports teams and coaches and facilitating participation in national and international events like the North American Indigenous Games. A huge advocate for Indigenous people, Robyn has a deep appreciation for the way that Indigenous sport weaves together physical activity, community involvement, and spirituality.

She also has a love for administration. “I love organizing things,” she says. “I started working at my mom’s office when I was fourteen, organizing files.” Robyn is married with two kids, two dogs, and a cat, and her family enjoys hiking, camping, and sports.

As she settles into her role at CCS, Robyn has been reading Gwyn Griffith’s Weaving a Changing Tapestry about the history of the Centre for Christian Studies. She’s particularly enjoying learning about CCS’s roots in early Canadian feminism.

“I’m looking forward to meeting everyone, to meeting all the students, and being a support.”

Robyn can be reached at 204.783.4490 x20 or rcruz@ccsonline.ca or office@ccsonline.ca
