Maylanne appointed principal at UTC
Former CCS principal Maylanne Maybee has stepped out of retirement into the role of acting principal at the United Theological College in Montreal, for a three-year term.
Maylanne served as principal of CCS from August 2011 to August 2017 when she retired and Michelle Owens took over the role.
UTC offers a Master of Divinity (M.Div.) degree as well as learning opportunities for many other facets of church and community leadership, including French for ministry and gaining insight from the Quebec context. United Theological College is the only bilingual theological college in the United Church of Canada. Maylanne is fluently bilingual.
“The United Theological College is a jewel of a school in the heart of Montreal,” Maybee said in a press release. “I love its tagline of ‘Formed in community for ministry in the world.’ I am drawn to its experiential approach to learning and the unique opportunity it offers for students to earn a bilingual M. Div. I look forward to the adventure ahead of exploration, planning, and building on [their] considerable strengths.”
Congratulations, Maylanne!
