Caring for All Creation

Caring for All Creation

In fall 2013, CCS student Tif McNaughton participated in a course entitled The Spirit of the Land at the Augustana Faculty of the University of Alberta. The course engaged participants in reflective conversation around creating a community land ethic, and the course’s website and broadcast on DS106 radio made it accessible to a global audience. This left some participants wondering, “can we grow this?” Yes, we can! The BC synod of the ELCIC, the Anglican Diosese of New Westminster and other organizations have joined the Chester Ronning Centre for the Study of Religion and Public Life to offer the course again.

McNaughton jumped at the chance to volunteer, assisting the coordinators with the online components and some of the sessions to be offered in Vancouver and Victoria this spring. “This is a great opportunity for me to gain experience in curriculum development and facilitation during my reflection year. The best part, to me, is that the course is offered free both in-person and online, so groups or individuals can join in from anywhere!” For more information see their invitation or go to spiritoftheland.ca or join the Caring for All Creation group on Facebook.
