CCS hires new Development Coordinator

Announcement from the CCS Central Council:

On behalf of the Central Council of the Centre for Christian Studies, the co-chairs are pleased to announce the appointment of Lori Stewart to the position of Development Coordinator (part time at .7FTE) , effective July 8, 2013.

Lori Stewart – CCS Development Coordinator

Lori graduated from CCS in 1987, holds a Masters in Religious Education from St. Michael’s College, Toronto, and a Doctorate in Education from the University of Sheffield and the International University of the Caribbean in Kingston, Jamaica. Her doctoral thesis was on the contribution of an action/reflection model to transformative learning at CCS.

Lori is well known to staff, students, and friends of CCS. She has been hired on contract to mark LDM assignments and to coordinate the 120th Anniversary. She also arranged the logistics for the January Program Consultation, and has served on the Program Committee.

She has served as a Diaconal Minister at Fort Garry United Church and Sturgeon Creek United Church in Winnipeg. For almost ten years she was the Program Minister for Stewardship in London Conference, and between 2001 and 2007 she served as a Theological Educator in Jamaica.

More recently she has worked as a program coordinator and interim Executive Director with UNPAC, a training and empowerment program for women that is housed at Woodsworth House. Lori will have only to move down the hall to begin her new position.

Lori brings experience in ministry, education, and stewardship coordination to this position. She is a team worker, a lifelong learner, and a passionate advocate of CCS. She will be coached by the Mikuska Group in the principles and practices of fundraising and fund development. We look forward to having her on staff.
